Owners
Sherry and Pat Burns have a lifelong passion for horses and ranching, with deep roots in the land and a shared dedication to their community. With backgrounds in fisheries and agriculture, they bring a unique perspective on sustainability and resource management to Two Mountains Farm. Their vision for the farm is one of connection, sustainability, and care.
Maris Burns
Manager
As the manager of Two Mountains Farm, Maris oversees all day-to-day operations, ensuring the health and well-being of the horses and the smooth running of the farm. From managing feed schedules and medical care to maintaining the barn and facilities, Maris keeps everything in top condition. With a passion for education, she also organizes clinics and training sessions, sharing her expertise with riders and staff. Her leadership ensures that both horses and people thrive, making Two Mountains Farm a premier destination for equestrian care and training.
Maris Burns has her A rating in the United States Pony Club. In dressage, she has competed through 4th level and won the Jr Young Rider Championships in 2002. In eventing Maris has competed through the CIC *** and advanced level, with wins at the CIC*, CCI *, and CIC ** level. Maris has been very fortunate to learn from some of the area’s most talented riders including Olympian Amy Tryon, Olympian Hawley Bennett-Awad, Conrad Schumacher, and Susie Hutchinson.
Marco Moreno
Assistant Manager
Marco is responsible for the day-to-day care of our boarding horses. He monitors their health, feeds, provides medical treatments, and helps keep the barn and fields well-maintained. In the summer, Marco is an integral part of harvesting our famous home-grown hay for the winter.
Sloan Steinbach
Barn Boss
The youngest member of Two Mountains Farm, the Barn Boss is the granddaughter of the owners and the daughter of the farm manager. Growing up surrounded by horses and farm life, she’s been learning the ropes from a young age. With a natural love for animals and the land, she’s already on her way to becoming a skilled horsewoman.
